Joshua Leadership Missions College

An interdenominational organisation, founded in 1987, by Dr Alan and Lynda Stephenson. The Joshua Foundation base is called En Gedi and is located 12 kilometres south of the Arusha city centre.  The Joshua Foundation currently operates the following ministry areas:

  • A Bible College that trains ministers from East Africa (predominantly), in theology, practical Christian living, leadership and church growth.
  • The lectures are currently in English, although there are plans to add some training in Swahili
  • The College operates on a modular basis, with each module contributing towards a recognised diploma or degree.  Each current module has approximately 30 students attending.
  • The College also conducts a number of seminars and conferences each year.

Joshua Teachers Training College

  • The focus is upskilling current teachers (many of whom only have six months training) as well as training Africans to become teachers.
  • Introducing modern teaching methodologies to Africa with a goal of enhancing the students ability to learn.

Schools

  • The Joshua Foundation operate a school in a village (Magugu) about 150 kilometres from Arusha.  They have received excellent reports in the government reviews.
  • They are also assisting in a number of other African schools and desire to build a number of other schools.

Further Projects

  • Establishing a model school to assist in the training of teachers and providing schooling to local Tanzanians.
  • Growing the fledgling agricultural training centre.
  • Starting businesses to provide employment for local communities and fund aspects of the growing ministry
